It’s not quite where Small Great started, but it is where our two founders first met in 2017, when she was an agency founder and he was a tech founder.
In 2020, we set out to build a small studio with a big vision: a world where business nurtures both humanity and the planet. We believed then, as we do now, that real change happens when impact is woven into how companies operate, not just what they say.
Our backgrounds shaped that belief. One of us came from building agencies and shaping narratives. The other from operating companies and building the systems that make those narratives real. Different disciplines. Shared instincts.
What we learned in our work together was that neither works on its own.
Stories without systems don’t hold.
Systems without story don’t travel.
Small Great exists at the intersection of stories and systems. It’s where strategy, operations, and marketing align, and growth becomes something a business can actually sustain.
That’s the work we do. And it’s why we do it together.

Jake is an operator who loves turning big visions into clear frameworks. With a knack for financial models, OKRs, and fundraising strategy, he helps founders set milestones, build systems, and scale ideas into reality.
Jess keeps projects moving, scripts flowing, and strategy on track. With experience spanning co-founding startups, fellowships at Rockefeller and StartingBloc, and impact roles in education and civic tech, she brings both precision and creativity to every initiative.
